The food pyramid

The food pyramid tells us what foods we should eat.  The foods on the bottom are the everyday foods. The foods on the top are good to eat once a week or if you want to be more healthy eat once a month.  

The bread, salad and wheat products are the most important food because they are packed full of vitamins.

You should eat a fruits and vegetables 5 to 4 times a week.  The vegetables are lettuce, tomato, capsicum and onions.  They are the second most important because they have protein in them.

The second to last one is  good because they have fat in them and we need fat to live. The fatty foods are Chicken, yoghurt, cheese and nuts.

Now these foods are the worst we must use them  sparingly.  They have loads of fat.  These foods that we should not eat a lot is cake, ice cream and lollies.

I chose this book because I want to know who will win if a killer whale fights a great white shark.

I also want to know more about the two predators, the killer whale and the great white shark.

Finally, I want to know about all the sea predators.

I also want to know why would they fight?

Germs?

What are germs? 
Germs are microscopic bacteria that can cause a disease. 

Do you get good germs?  
Yes you get good germs that can heal you.They can prevent disease. These are good germs They are really really small.

Do you get bad germs?
Yes, these are bad germs that can cause diseases like skin cancer.  



There a lot of germs.  

But there are good and bad germs.  The bad germs can cause disease such as skin cancer.  The good germs can heal  you. Some good germs can heal you if you have a cut or bruise.  You cannot see germs but you have to get a microscope and look to see germs.  

Evan comes to our school

Today A man from the bank called Evan came to our school.  He was from ASB bank.  Evan was talking about how to save money and how to spend it.  

We can earn money by working at a shop, neighbourhood, and selling stuff.  When you join a bank you get interest in the amount of money you save.  Evan told us about three different stories in his life One was about his cheeky mum who always tricked him.  The others were about his friends who saved money and one that didn't save money.  But the most best one was about his friend Maggie who liked animals and walked dogs also she  washed them.  But first she must learn the rules.  

When Evan was little he wanted a game boy that was 260 dollars.  Evan saved money and got Interest for saving money.  He saved 5 dollars and spent 10 dollars.  At the end of the year he saved up 279 dollars.  He bought the game boy and had a little to buy a Christmas present for his mum.

Today I read this book online it was written by Alison Howes.  I was learning how Understands how language features add to the quality of the text 

How toys work

Today we learnt one way that toys work. So I am going to tell you guys how toys work. You can push a toy or pull a toy with a string.

I have learned that toys can work by  pushing pulling. twisting, winding and with batteries.  

I chose  this colourful toy that works by winding. You wind that little yellow screw on the side. This toy is from McDonald. McDonalds is a fast food restaurant. This toy has a lot of cogs and gears inside of it. McDonald have a lot of good toys that I could choose, but I chose this toy. I like toys that have cogs in them because it is just like it has batteries in it. This toy works by winding and when you wind this toy there are a lot of cogs and gears inside of it that spin and make things move. When you wind this toy the McDonald sign spins. Wouldn't you like to learn how toys work as well?

Hi my name is Tamim. I go to Glen Innes School. Room 9 is my class.  My kind teacher is Mr Ramkolowan and my caring friends are Samuel, Ifa, Paerata, Timothy and Wesley.  My hobby when I am out of school is playing games on my PS3 and PSP. At school my favourite hobby is reading. The band that I like the most is Linkin Park.  They sing so well.  My favourite colour is blue.
